Christmas Bowl Appeal

This year our small congregation will be sending $875.85 to the Christmas Bowl Appeal.  This is the Christmas Appeal of Act for peace, the international agency of the national Council of Churches in Australia, a member of the global ACT Aliiance.

Some $320.85 of the amount was raised by our singing Carols at the Carnes Hill Shopping Centre and we thank the shoppers who generously gave money towards this Appeal.  The remaining $555 was raised as offering during our Christmas Day church service.  Thank you to all who have given towards this Appeal – we have helped make Christmas for the less fortunate a beautiful one.

Fruit Hamper

Fruit Hampers

Abbotsbury Uniting Church helps the community by delivering fruit hampers to schools.  Currently the church delivers fruit hampers every week to four schools in the South West area of Sydney.  The schools give the hampers to a family who currently experiences some form of hardship. Each fruit basket costs around $40.00.

If you would like to help our church in this special project, please contact Abbotsbury Uniting Church on (02) 9826 1060 or (02) 9823 7629.  We also have a gleaning jar at church where anyone can place their 5 or 10 cents coins furing our Sunday services which starts at 9:15am).

Abbotsbury Uniting Church ‘gleans’

Our church has a gleaning jar that welcomes your support by dropping your 5 and 10 cents in the jar.  Every week, the church distributes baskets of fruit and vegetable to a few households in the community who need support.

You can help in many ways:

  1. Gather your 5 cents and 10 cents and drop them in our ‘gleaning’ jar at the altar every Sunday morning during the service.
  2. Donate money – contact the church or give it during the Sunday morning service
  3. Pray for our church – that we may be able to continue this project

God bless you.
